What is Bunka? (Japanese Punch Needle Art Embroidery)

Bunka embroidery is described as the art of painting on fabric using a punch needle and rayon thread. The artist uses the bunka punch needle and brightly hued rayon thread to create intricate, multi-dimensional pictures that look like a painting.
